Saudi Pro League players: the biggest names at all 18 clubs in 2026-27

Cristiano Ronaldo is still the most famous player in the Saudi Pro League, but he is no longer the only reason to watch it. At Al-Nassr he plays alongside João Félix, Sadio Mané and Kingsley Coman. Al-Hilal added Ollie Watkins and Gabriel Martinelli from the Premier League this summer, Al-Qadsiah have Mateo Retegui and Tijjani Reijnders, and Ivan Toney is the league’s top scorer at Al-Ahli with 13 goals.

Below is a club-by-club guide to the players worth knowing in all 18 squads, the scoring and assist charts after ten rounds, and the rules on how many foreign players each club can use. Standings and statistics are correct after the matches of 24 October 2026.

How many foreign players can a Saudi Pro League club have?

Each club can register up to ten foreign players, and up to eight of them can be named for a league match. So when you read the club list below, most of the famous names are using one of those ten places. The Saudi players make up the rest of each squad, and almost all of the national team.

Al-Nassr: Ronaldo and the champions

Al-Nassr are the defending champions. They won the 2025-26 title, their 11th, and Ronaldo scored twice in the 4-1 win over Damac on the final day that sealed it. It was his first league title since 2020.

He signed for the Riyadh club on 30 December 2022. Since then he has scored more than 100 Saudi Pro League goals, he won the Golden Boot in 2023-24 with 35, which is still the single-season record, and won it again in 2024-25 with 25. This season has been slower, with a lower scoring rate than in his Golden Boot years, while Al-Nassr sit two points off the top.

Around him, Félix and Coman play off the flanks, Mané has four assists already, and Brazil goalkeeper Bento has kept four clean sheets. For the full picture of what Ronaldo has scored in every competition, see our breakdown of Ronaldo’s goals for Al-Nassr.

Al-Hilal: the Premier League pair at the top of the table

Al-Hilal lead the table with 27 points from ten games, nine wins and one defeat. Their latest win was the one that mattered most, 3-2 away at Al-Qadsiah on 23 October, which put them two points clear of both chasers.

The two summer arrivals have settled in at once. Watkins left Aston Villa for a reported £50 million and leads the league with five assists. Martinelli, the most expensive player Arsenal have ever sold, has six goals in his six appearances, including a hat-trick in the 6-0 win at Al-Taawoun on 12 September, which is still the biggest away win of the season.

Behind them sits a spine that has been there for a while: Neves and Milinković-Savić in midfield, Koulibaly and Theo Hernández in defence, and Morocco goalkeeper Bounou, who has kept five clean sheets, more than anyone else. Salem Al-Dawsari, Saudi Arabia’s captain, is still part of it. The club parted company with Benzema by mutual agreement on 31 August, and Núñez, who is still under contract with them, is playing the season on loan at Al-Diriyah.

Al-Qadsiah, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli

Al-Qadsiah are third, level on points with Al-Nassr, and they score from all over the pitch. Retegui, signed from Atalanta in July 2025, has seven goals. Reijnders arrived from Manchester City in August and has five. Quiñones, who won last season’s Golden Boot with 33, has five as well. The Saudi player to watch is Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat, a defender in Saudi Arabia’s World Cup squad, who already has four goals and four assists.

Al-Ittihad brought Wijnaldum back to the league after he left Al-Ettifaq this summer, and they have En-Nesyri, Bergwijn and George Ilenikhena sharing the goals. En-Nesyri’s seven puts him joint second in the scoring chart.

Al-Ahli have Toney, and that has been enough to keep them in the top five. He has 13 goals from nine appearances, five of them penalties, and is six clear of anyone else. He finished one goal behind Quiñones in the Golden Boot race last season, with 32.

The rest of the league

The famous names are no longer confined to four or five clubs. Lacazette has six goals for Neom, who are sixth. Al-Shabab signed Thomas Partey on a free transfer from Villarreal on 21 August, reuniting him with his former Atlético Madrid team-mate Carrasco. Al-Diriyah, playing in the top flight for the first time, took Núñez and Millot on loan and sit eighth, well clear of the bottom three.

At the other end, Abha have Batshuayi, who joined on a free from Eintracht Frankfurt on 17 August, and Fekir, but they are bottom with two points from nine games. Al-Taawoun are 17th and still without a win after 11 games.

Francisco Trincão Al-Ahli 10 6
George Ilenikhena Al-Ittihad 8 6

The Saudi players

For all the imports, the national team still comes almost entirely from this league. Saudi Arabia took 26 players to the 2026 World Cup and 25 of them played their club football at home, seven of them at Al-Hilal and six at Al-Nassr. Al-Dawsari and Mohamed Kanno at Al-Hilal, Musab Al-Juwayr at Al-Qadsiah, Saleh Al-Shehri at Al-Ittihad and Abdullah Al-Hamdan at Al-Nassr are the names that recur. Our Saudi Arabia squad guide has the full list with caps and goals.
