GFX Tool Pro for BGMI MOD APK and 90 FPS: why it is a ban, and what works instead

GFX Tool for BGMI is one of the most downloaded third-party apps in Indian mobile gaming, usually pitched as a way to force 90 FPS on a phone that does not officially support it. This page used to explain how to install the modded version, including how to switch off Android’s protection against unknown apps. That advice was wrong, and it has been removed.

GFX tools are third-party programs that tamper with the game client. Krafton bans accounts for using them, and the modded versions add a second problem on top.

Krafton bans GFX tools

This is not a grey area. GFX tools are unauthorised programs that alter files relating to the game client in order to change how it renders, and Krafton’s rules on unauthorised programs carry a permanent ban — for using them, and also for advertising or distributing them. Where the detection points at the handset, the device can be banned, which is the outcome that actually ends people’s BGMI careers, because a fresh account does not restore access.

A “mod APK” version of a GFX tool compounds it. Installing one means going into Android’s settings and allowing an unknown source to install software, then handing that package the permissions it requests on a phone that holds your UPI apps, your OTP messages and your saved logins. A whole category of sites exists to distribute exactly this, and the app is the payment. Credential theft and silent subscriptions are common, and they do not announce themselves at install time.

How to actually get higher frame rates in BGMI

The honest answer: the frame-rate ceiling is set by your handset and by BGMI’s own graphics settings, and there is a legitimate way to reach it.

• Trade graphics quality for frames. In Settings then Graphics, dropping the quality preset unlocks the higher frame-rate options. Smooth plus Extreme beats a prettier preset that stutters.
• Fix thermals before settings. Most frame drops on mid-range phones are heat, not configuration. Close background apps, take the case off during long sessions, and keep the battery from running hot while charging and playing at once.
• Keep storage free and the game updated. Dull, and it works.
