Odisha came back twice, and Lee Erwin’s 87th-minute goal kept Mohun Bagan top of the ISL
Dejan Dražić scored twice and Everton got his first goal of the season, but Mohun Bagan’s late winner leaves them a point clear of NorthEast United.

Odisha FC had not won a game all season, and twice on Thursday night they came back to level at the Salt Lake Stadium. The second time, with 11 minutes left, Mohun Bagan needed another goal. Lee Erwin scored it in the 87th minute, and the 3-2 win keeps them top of the ISL.
That was the point at stake before kick-off. NorthEast United had won 2-0 at Churchill Brothers earlier in the evening and gone to 11 points, one more than a draw would have given Mohun Bagan. Instead, Dilmperis’s side have 12 from five games and their fourth straight win since losing their opener at NorthEast.
Dražić scores twice
The first half finished goalless, mostly because of Hrithik Tiwari. Odisha’s goalkeeper made nine saves on the night, and Mohun Bagan had 29 shots, 12 of them on target.
Dejan Dražić broke through two minutes after the restart, in the 47th minute. It lasted five. Mahmoud Eid equalised for Odisha in the 52nd, and the game stayed level until Dražić scored again in the 74th. He also got the winner against Punjab FC on Saturday, so that is three goals in two games for him.
Everton finally scores
Odisha’s Brazilian forward Everton had gone three games without a goal, and his team had two in total all season. He made it 2-2 in the 79th minute. TG Purushothaman had called this “a match for survival” beforehand, and for eight minutes his side had a point.
Dilmperis sent on Jamie Maclaren, back in the squad after injury, for Manvir Singh in the 85th minute. Two minutes later Erwin, who had been denied by Tiwari in the first minute, had the winner.
Odisha stay on two points from four games, still without a win. On those shot numbers Mohun Bagan should have won this far more comfortably, even without the injured Sahal Abdul Samad. They did not, and they are top anyway.
