BGMI 60 FPS: how to set it in-game, and why the config file is a ban

A “BGMI 60 FPS config file download” sounds like a shortcut to smoother gameplay. It isn’t one. Frame rate in Battlegrounds Mobile India is a setting inside the game, free and two taps away, and no file needs to go anywhere near your device to unlock it.

What gets distributed as a BGMI config file is something else: a package you are told to copy into the game’s own directory, replacing files Krafton shipped. That is client modification, it is what BGMI’s anti-cheat is built to detect, and the penalty is a permanent ban.

How to actually set 60 FPS in BGMI

Open Settings, go to Graphics, and set the Frame Rate option. What you can pick depends on the graphics quality you choose and on what your handset supports — lower the quality preset and higher frame-rate options become available. Smooth plus Extreme is the combination most phones can hold; picking HDR graphics and then wondering why the frame rate caps out is the usual mistake.

Beyond that, the things that actually protect your frame rate are ordinary: close background apps, keep the phone cool, leave enough free storage, and update the game. A device that throttles under heat will drop frames no matter what the setting says.

Why the config-file route is a bad trade

Krafton’s policy on unauthorised programs covers using, developing, advertising, trading and distributing them, and the stated penalty is a permanent ban. Where detection attributes the modification to a handset, the device can be banned too, so a new account on the same phone does not help. GFX tools and similar third-party utilities fall under the same rule, whatever they claim to optimise.

Some of these files are also advertised as removing weapon recoil. That is not a graphics tweak by another name — it is a cheat, and it is the clearest possible signal of what the package really does.

The download sites carry their own cost. Sideloading from an unvetted host means granting install permissions to software nobody has checked, on the phone that holds your payment apps and your logins.

What to use instead
