Alajbegović was about to come off, and his first Serie A goal started Juventus’s 2-0 win over Napoli
Juventus were being whistled by their own fans at 0-0, then Kerim Alajbegović and Jérémie Boga scored late as Luciano Spalletti beat his old club four days after losing at Genoa.

Early in Sunday’s second half, the Allianz Stadium turned on its own team. Juventus had lost 2-0 at Genoa four days earlier, the game against Napoli was goalless, and a loose pass from Randal Kolo Muani set off the whistles. Spalletti took him off on 59 minutes. By full time Juventus had won 2-0, through a winger who was about to be taken off and another who came off the bench.
Alajbegović, then Boga
Kerim Alajbegović was close to being substituted when he scored. Edon Zhegrova, Kolo Muani’s replacement, broke forward on the right, the ball reached Alajbegović, and his left-footed shot from around 20 yards went into the top corner in the 70th minute. It was his first Serie A goal.
Napoli were down to ten five minutes later. Luca Marianucci, booked in the first half for pulling at Nick Woltemade, brought down Juan Cabal on the left and got a second yellow.
Jérémie Boga came on for Alajbegović in the 72nd minute. In the 87th minute he took a pass from Andrea Cambiaso, on for only five minutes himself, and curled it past Alex Meret.
Napoli had the first real chance. Guglielmo Vicario needed a sharp save from an early Lorenzo Lucca header, and Cabal’s deflected effort from a corner hit the post at the other end before half-time. The difference came from Spalletti’s bench.
“We need to be united”
Spalletti won the Scudetto with Napoli in 2023, and he needed this one against them. Juventus had won one of their four league games before Sunday, and the Genoa defeat had put his job in the headlines.
He gave the players the credit, but saved his main message for the stands. “You can say Spalletti’s no good, that player’s no good, get rid of everyone, but right now we need to be united,” he said. “We need our fans by our side, the real face of this stadium.”
The win takes Juventus to seventh on 17 points. Como are fourth on 23, so the gap to the Champions League places is still six points.
Napoli stuck in eighth
Massimiliano Allegri, who coached Juventus twice, missed his return to Turin. He is serving a two-match ban for his red card in the 3-3 draw with Roma, so his assistant Marco Landucci ran the side here, as he had in Wednesday’s win at Monza. Giovanni Di Lorenzo was taken off at half-time.
It was Napoli’s fourth league defeat of the season. They are eighth on 14 points after ten rounds, level with Bologna and 14 behind the leaders Lazio.
