Harry Kane needed 104 games for his first 100 Bayern goals, and 49 more for the next 50
Kane’s 72nd-minute winner at Elversberg was his 150th goal in 153 matches for Bayern Munich. His Bundesliga hundred is one game away.

Bayern Munich were drawing 1-1 at newly promoted Elversberg with 18 minutes left. Aleksandar Pavlovic found Harry Kane in the box, Kane hit it near post past Nicolas Kristof, and that was the game. It was also his 150th goal for the club in his 153rd match.
Put the two halves of that number side by side and the second one is the strange part. Kane reached 100 Bayern goals in 104 games, which made him the quickest player to 100 for any club in Europe’s five biggest leagues, ahead of Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo on 105. He has taken 49 games to score the 50 after that. The pace has gone up, not down, and he turned 33 in July.
The Bundesliga number is about to turn over
Sunday’s goal was Kane’s 99th in the Bundesliga, in his 97th league appearance, and his first of this season. Bayern play Union Berlin next, so the hundredth is probably one match away.
He had gone two league games without one, which for him counts as a slump worth mentioning. Bayern beat Stuttgart 5-1 and drew 0-0 with Schalke while Kane did not score, then he scored in the 5-0 Champions League win over Bodo/Glimt, then he scored the winner at Elversberg. Vincent Kompany’s side sit fourth with seven points from three.
Elversberg were closer than the scoreline
Lennart Karl put Bayern ahead in the 26th minute. Maurice Krattenmacher came off the bench and equalised on 61, his third goal in three league games and the third of them scored as a substitute. Elversberg have already beaten Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach since coming up. They were a Kane finish away from a third scalp.
The player who could not win anything
The numbers are easy to take for granted now, so it is worth remembering what Kane’s career looked like before Munich. He lost six finals: two European Championships with England in 2021 and 2024, a Champions League final and two League Cup finals with Tottenham, and a German Super Cup with Bayern. He left for Bayern in August 2023 at 30, still without a trophy, and his first season there ended with Bayer Leverkusen taking the league and the cup, RB Leipzig taking the Supercup and Bayern taking nothing. Kane scored 44 in 45 that year.
Since then he has won the Bundesliga in 2024-25 and again in 2025-26, added the DFB Cup and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup last season, taken the European Golden Shoe, been the Bundesliga’s top scorer three seasons running, and finished third at the World Cup with England. The DFB Cup was Bayern’s first in six years.
A goal a game for three seasons at a club that expects to win everything is not a hot run. It is what he does. The only thing left to argue about is whether 150 in 153 is enough to win him a Ballon d’Or, and on the evidence of the last three years he will keep scoring either way.
