BGMS Season 5 starts on 10 August, in the middle of the World Cup in Paris

NODWIN Gaming has put dates on the fifth BGMI Masters Series. It runs from 10 August to 6 September, 24 teams across four weeks of league play before the playoffs and a three-day final. What it does not have yet is a prize pool, a team list, or a published points system, and the first of those is the number the Indian scene will be waiting on.

Four weeks, then the knockout

League Week 1 runs from 10 to 13 August, followed by a Bounty Weekend from 14 to 16 August. League Week 2 is 17 to 20 August and Super Weekend 1 covers 21 to 23 August. The last league block runs 24 to 27 August, Super Weekend 2 lands on 28 to 30 August, and the playoffs follow from 31 August to 2 September. The grand finals are 4 to 6 September.

NODWIN calls the structure a refreshed format built to reward consistency, with every match feeding into a team’s progress rather than a hot weekend at the end deciding the title. That is a defensible design in battle royale, where a single lucky circle can carry a squad further than four weeks of good play should allow. Judging it properly needs the points table that has not been released yet.

The Paris problem

The dates create an obvious clash. The PUBG Mobile World Cup runs from 6 to 16 August in Paris, with the group stage from 6 to 9 August, a survival stage on 11 and 12 August and the grand finals from 14 to 16 August. BGMS League Week 1 opens on 10 August, in the middle of that.

India has two teams in Paris for the first time, GodLike Esports and Orangutan, and both spent weeks scrimming in Nepal to get ready for it, because the global build of PUBG Mobile has been banned in India since 2020. Those are also two of the biggest names any 24-team domestic league would want on its opening broadcast. NODWIN has not published its team list, so how the two events sit alongside each other is unresolved. A roster cannot be in a Paris lobby and a BGMS league match on the same night.

The number Season 4 set

Last year’s edition ran from 18 August to 14 September 2025 with 26 teams and a prize pool of 1.5 crore rupees. K9 Esports won it in Delhi NCR on 14 September and took 60 lakh of that, with Sinewy Esports second and Team Soul third.

Season 5 is two teams smaller and starts eight days earlier. Whether it is also worth less is the open question, and the silence on the prize pool a week out from the opening match is doing nothing to settle it. BGMS is the closest thing India has to a domestic BGMI institution, and its purse is read every year as a signal about where the money in Indian mobile esports is going.

And then it keeps going

The BGMS final on 6 September buys teams about a fortnight. KRAFTON’s BGMI Showdown, a 48-team domestic event with its own crore-rupee pool, starts on 22 September and runs to a LAN final in mid-October, and the BGMI International Cup in Mumbai holds its finals from 30 October. Add the World Cup at the front of it and Indian BGMI rosters are looking at three months without a genuine off week. For fans that is a good problem. For a five-man squad and one coach, it is the sort of calendar that decides seasons in the last week of it.
