BGMI International Cup heads to Mumbai as KRAFTON adds a new home tournament

KRAFTON India has laid out the second half of its 2026 Battlegrounds Mobile India calendar, and the headline is two Mumbai LAN events with a combined prize pool of two crore rupees. The BGMI International Cup returns for a second season, and a brand new domestic competition, the BGMI Showdown, slots in ahead of it.

International teams come to Mumbai

The BGMI International Cup is the bigger draw. Its Grand Finals run from October 30 to November 1 at the Dome, SVP Indoor Stadium in Mumbai, and the field pulls in sixteen teams from three of Asia’s strongest regions: six from India, five from South Korea and five from Japan. The prize pool is one crore rupees.

What makes it worth watching is the format itself. This is the second year running that international rosters have played Indian teams on Indian soil in front of a live crowd, rather than online or at a neutral overseas venue. For a scene that has spent years measuring itself against Korean and Japanese sides through broadcast feeds and global points tables, a face-to-face LAN at home is a real test of where Indian BGMI actually stands.

A new domestic event fills the gap

Before that, the BGMI Showdown gives the home teams a stage of their own. It begins on September 22 and builds towards an offline LAN finals from October 16 to 18, also carrying a one crore rupee prize pool. Forty-eight teams take part, and there is no open qualifier route in. Invitations are handed out purely on results, drawn from standings across the KRAFTON India Esports Leaderboard, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series and the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series.

That invite-only structure rewards teams who have already put in a season of work. A roster that has been grinding the ranked leaderboard and the qualifiers all year has something concrete to show for it, and the sides that slipped through the cracks of the bigger events get a shot at redemption before the season closes.

Where it sits in the calendar

The two tournaments cap a busy competitive year for BGMI, one that has already run through BGIS and a full BMPS cycle with an Esports World Cup slot on the line. Stacking a domestic showpiece in September and October and then throwing the doors open to Korea and Japan in November gives the back half of the season a clear shape, and it keeps the top Indian rosters in near-constant competition rather than trailing off after the summer.

The bigger question is the one the International Cup will answer in Mumbai. Home advantage and a home crowd are one thing. Beating the regions that have long set the standard is another, and for once Indian fans will get to watch that happen in the same room.
