BGMI points table explained: how placement and finish points work in 2026

Every BGMI tournament table is built out of just two numbers: the placement points a squad earns for where it finishes a match, and one point for every finish. Here is the full BGMI points table, a worked example, and how Krafton’s season-long Global Points ranking sits on top of it.

BGMI points table explained: how placement and finish points work in 2026

Krafton moved Indian BGMI esports onto the global PUBG Mobile scoring structure in 2024, and that structure is still what BGIS, BMPS and the bulk of the third-party circuit run on in 2026. Here is the full table, a worked example, and how Krafton’s season-long Global Points ranking sits on top of it.

The BGMI points table in full

An official BGMI esports lobby is 16 squads of four — 64 players, not the 100 you drop in against in a public match. Placement points are handed out like this:

Placement Placement points
1st (WWCD) 10
2nd 6
3rd 5
4th 4
5th 3
6th 2
7th 1
8th 1
9th to 16th 0

On top of that, every finish is worth one point — no cap, and no bonus for the squad that takes the last kill. A team’s match score is placement points plus finishes, and its tournament total is the sum across every match it plays. That is the entire BGMI points table system.

Two things fall straight out of the numbers. The step from first to second is four points, the biggest single drop anywhere in the structure, which is why a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) still swings a whole day. And ninth pays exactly what sixteenth pays: nothing. Once a squad knows the top eight has gone, the table stops rewarding it for staying alive.

Working out a match score

Take three squads from the same lobby:

  • Squad A takes the WWCD with eight finishes — 10 + 8 = 18 points.
  • Squad B goes out third but racks up 14 finishes — 5 + 14 = 19 points.
  • Squad C plays for survival, reaches seventh, kills two — 1 + 2 = 3 points.

Squad B out-scores the match winner without winning the match. That is the design intent: fragging out is a legitimate route up a BGMI points table, and the careful squad that used to bank a safe top-six finish barely registers now.

BMPS 2026 was the loudest demonstration of it. GodLike Esports finished Day 1 of the Grand Finals in Jaipur dead last on 20 points, then climbed the entire field across the next two days to take the title and the direct Esports World Cup 2026 slot that came with it. A table that pays for aggression is a table you can climb.

What the old 15-point table did differently

Before 2024, Indian tournaments ran a much heavier placement structure: 15 points for first, 12 for second, 10 for third, tapering from there. Placement was worth so much that a squad could rotate carefully, dodge every fight and still sit near the top of the standings on a day it never won a match.

The switch arrived with Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2024 and cut those values hard — first from 15 to 10, second from 12 to 6, third from 10 to 5 — while leaving each finish at one point. Nothing was added to reward kills. Kills simply stopped being drowned out. The change also brought BGMI in line with international PUBG Mobile events, so an Indian squad heading to a global LAN no longer has to relearn how a scoreboard behaves.

Where this points table applies

The 10-point structure is standard across Krafton’s own India circuit — BGIS and BMPS both use it — and most of the significant third-party organisers have adopted it too, from the Skyesports events down to tier-two and tier-three qualifiers. Krafton has also added the BGMI International Cup in Mumbai to the calendar, another event feeding the same scoring model.

What does change between events is the format wrapped around the scoring: matches per day, how many squads survive each stage, and whether a stage resets totals to zero. Check the individual tournament’s rulebook for that. The per-match arithmetic above stays constant.

Global Points: one table for the whole season

Since 2026 there is a second table worth knowing about. Krafton India publishes a Global Points table on the official BGMI esports portal, and it accumulates a team’s results across every Krafton-sanctioned event of the calendar instead of resetting at each tournament.

It does a different job from a match points table. The in-tournament table decides who lifts the trophy; Global Points measures who has been good all year, and it is the most-discussed candidate for allocating India’s second Esports World Cup slot — the one that is not handed to the BMPS champion. For a squad that misses out at the headline event, the season table is why the next mid-size stop still matters.

Tournament points are not in-game rank points

Worth separating the two, because they get searched for interchangeably. Everything above is the esports scoring used to rank teams in organised competition. The tier ladder you climb in your own ranked matches — Bronze through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crown, Ace and on to Conqueror — is a separate in-game system with its own rating maths and its own seasonal resets. It has no relationship to the 10-6-5-4 table. A Conqueror push and a BGIS points table share nothing but the word “points”.

Quick answers

How many points is a chicken dinner worth in BGMI esports?

Ten placement points, plus one point for every finish the squad recorded in that match.

Do BGMI teams get points for finishing 10th?

No placement points. Anything from 9th to 16th scores zero, so a 10th-place squad leaves the match with only its finish points.

How many points do you get per kill in BGMI tournaments?

One point per finish, with no cap.

Is the BGMI points system the same as PUBG Mobile’s?

Yes. The 2024 change was specifically an alignment with the global PUBG Mobile esports structure, which is why the placement values match.
