Kieron Pollard has played the most matches in T20 cricket: 754, from his debut for Trinidad and Tobago in 2006 to the 2026 season. No one else has reached 700, and the next man, his West Indies team-mate Sunil Narine, is on 617.
West Indians hold four of the top five places. Andre Russell is third on 611, David Miller of South Africa fourth on 584, and Dwayne Bravo fifth on 582, a total that will not change: he retired in 2024.
Pollard was also the first to 500. He got there in a T20 international against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on 4 March 2020, and in the same match became the second batter after Chris Gayle to reach 10,000 T20 runs.
Huge congrats to Captain @KieronPollard55 on his 5⃣0⃣0⃣th T20 today! What an achievement! #MenInMaroon #ItsOurGame

The all-rounders who dominate the list
Seven of the top ten bowl as well as bat, and three of them have taken more than 600 wickets. Rashid Khan has the most wickets in T20 cricket, 740 from 550 matches, ahead of Narine on 658 and Bravo on 631. Pollard pairs his matches record with 14,999 runs, one short of 15,000, and 341 wickets.
Jos Buttler, tenth on 529 matches, is the only one of the ten who has never bowled in a T20, and he has scored more runs than any of them: 15,062, the T20 record.
Chris Gayle finished on 463 matches, level with Quinton de Kock in joint 20th. Ravi Bopara, who played in the first season of the Twenty20 Cup in 2003, is 13th on 494.

Most T20 matches by an Indian
Rohit Sharma leads the Indian list with 472 matches, 42 more than Virat Kohli on 430. Dinesh Karthik (415) and MS Dhoni (405) are the only other Indians past 400, and Suryakumar Yadav is fifth on 373.
These totals cover every T20 a player has played, for India, in the IPL and in domestic cricket. Counting T20 internationals alone, Rohit is again India’s most-capped player, with 161, ahead of Hardik Pandya on 138.
