Leipzig reject Real Madrid’s 100 million euro bid for Yan Diomande
Leipzig have turned down an official 100 million euro offer from Real Madrid for Yan Diomande, weeks after sending Liverpool away with the same answer. PSG have the 19-year-old’s word on personal terms but still have not made a bid.

Real Madrid have had an official offer for Yan Diomande turned down by RB Leipzig, and the answer was the one Liverpool already got earlier this summer. Not enough.
The bid was worth 100 million euros in total, split into 90 million guaranteed and another 10 million in add-ons. Fabrizio Romano reported that Leipzig knocked it back because they want more than 100 million before they will even discuss selling. Talks between the two clubs have not collapsed. Leipzig just have no reason to hurry.
Leipzig hold every card here
Diomande’s contract runs to 2030. That single fact is why the German club can sit and wait while some of the richest teams in Europe queue up. They paid Leganes 20 million euros for him in July 2025 and watched him turn into the most chased teenager on the continent inside one season.
ESPN reported in May that Leipzig had put an internal valuation of 130 million euros on the winger. Nothing that has happened since suggests they have come down from it. Diomande himself sounded relaxed enough back then. “My contract here is until 2030, so I have four more years,” he said. “What’s going to happen afterwards? I don’t know. I am a Leipzig player.”
PSG have the player but not the deal
Paris Saint-Germain have been in front of this race for weeks. Bild reported that Diomande has already agreed personal terms on a contract running to 2031, which in most transfers is the hard part. Here it has changed nothing. PSG have not put an official bid to Leipzig at all, and the conversations they have been having with the German club for weeks keep stopping at the number.
That is the opening Madrid tried to walk through. Getting a written offer in first shifts the mood of a negotiation even when it comes straight back, and it puts a deadline in the player’s mind. Liverpool tried the same move with 100 million euros of their own and were sent away too.
What 100 million buys at 19
Diomande scored 12 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances in his first season in Germany, and Leipzig ended it back in the Champions League. At 19 years and 114 days he became the fourth youngest player to reach double figures for goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. The league named him its rookie of the season.
He then went to the World Cup with Ivory Coast and looked like he belonged. He played the full 90 minutes of the opening win over Ecuador and set up a goal against Germany. He is 19 with well over a dozen international caps and three international goals already.
Buyers are not paying for last season. They are paying for the six or seven years after it, and Leipzig know that better than anyone. Two clubs have now offered 100 million euros for a 19-year-old, and both have been told to come back with more.
