Hull had not conceded at the MKM all season, and Belloumi came off the bench to deny Everton a win
Everton came from behind to lead 2-1 through Thierno Barry, but Hull substitute Mohamed Belloumi levelled in the 74th minute for a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Hull City had not conceded a goal at the MKM Stadium this season until Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall headed in on Sunday. Everton went on to lead, and still left with only a point, as substitute Mohamed Belloumi made it 2-2 with 16 minutes to play.
Promoted Hull are now unbeaten in three home games. David Moyes’ Everton have not lost in six league matches, but four of them are draws, and this one felt like two points thrown away.
A goal that wasn’t, and a mistake that was
Everton had the better of the first half and thought they had the lead before the break. Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis dropped a cross and Brennan Johnson forced the ball in, but VAR ruled him offside for challenging an opponent for the ball.
Hull scored instead, three minutes after the restart. Everton right-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles gave the ball away and Joe Gelhardt finished the move off. It was Gelhardt’s first top-flight goal since he scored for Leeds against Norwich in March 2022.
Maitland-Niles put that right quickly. His cross in the 55th minute found Dewsbury-Hall, whose header ended Hull’s clean home record.
Barry misses one, scores the next
Thierno Barry should have put Everton ahead on the hour when he missed from close range. Eight minutes later Dewsbury-Hall played him through and he curled the ball past Tzolakis to make it 2-1. It was the second league game running that Barry had scored in.
Everton could not hold on. Belloumi, on from the bench, struck low from inside the area past Jordan Pickford in the 74th minute. That makes three goals and two assists for the Algerian winger in Hull’s first six Premier League games, two of the goals coming in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea.
Moyes unhappy with the offside call and his own side
Moyes accepted that Johnson could have been offside, but not the reasoning. “I don’t know what subjective offside means,” he said. He was harder on his own players. “We had very few performing today,” he said, adding that a couple of defensive lapses had been really poor.
Hull head coach Sergej Jakirovic was happier. “It’s a good point for us,” he said, pointing out that Everton were still unbeaten after six games.
The point leaves Everton fifth on 10 points after Sunday’s games, eight behind leaders Manchester City. Hull are eighth on nine. Everton host Chelsea on Saturday, while Hull go to Fulham.
