Calcutta Football League 2026 points table: CFL Premier Division Group A and Group B standings

The 128th edition of India’s oldest league competition kicked off on 12 July 2026, East Bengal against George Telegraph, and the first phase is now roughly a third of the way through. Below are both group tables in full, followed by the format that decides who goes up into the Super Six and who drops into the relegation round.

Standings correct as of 30 July 2026.

CFL 2026 Group A points table

# Team P W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 East Bengal 4 4 0 0 14 2 +12 12
2 Mohun Bagan U23 4 3 1 0 9 1 +8 10
3 Bhawanipore 4 3 1 0 7 1 +6 10
4 Kidderpore 6 2 4 0 10 5 +5 10
5 United Kolkata 4 2 0 2 7 6 +1 6
6 Pathachakra 6 2 0 4 6 17 −11 6
7 Calcutta Customs 4 1 2 1 8 7 +1 5
8 BSS Sporting 2 1 1 0 4 2 +2 4
9 Railway FC 5 1 1 3 4 7 −3 4
10 George Telegraph 5 1 1 3 3 9 −6 4
11 Bidhannagar MSA 4 0 1 3 2 11 −9 1
12 Sribhumi FC (withdrew) 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
13 Kalighat MS 4 0 0 4 2 8 −6 0

East Bengal are the only side in either group yet to drop a point, and their +12 goal difference is the best in the competition. The interesting row is the fourth one: Kidderpore have not lost a match either, but four draws in six games leave them level on 10 points with two teams who have played twice less and are ahead of them on goal difference. Two games in hand is a comfortable position to defend; four draws is not.

At the other end, Kalighat MS have lost all four and Bidhannagar MSA have a single point from four, which with a −9 goal difference already looks like relegation-round work. Pathachakra are the group’s oddity: two wins banked, but 17 conceded in six.

CFL 2026 Group B points table

# Team P W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Coal India SPA 5 3 2 0 8 2 +6 11
2 Police AC 4 2 2 0 7 2 +5 8
3 Mohammedan SC 3 2 1 0 7 3 +4 7
4 Aryan 5 1 2 2 5 4 +1 5
5 Measures Club 3 1 2 0 5 4 +1 5
6 Calcutta Police 4 1 2 1 3 3 0 5
7 Suruchi Sangha 4 1 2 1 5 6 −1 5
8 Wari 4 1 1 2 4 6 −2 4
9 United SC 4 1 1 2 2 4 −2 4
10 NBP Rainbow 4 1 1 2 5 9 −4 4
11 Kalighat SLA 4 0 2 2 1 5 −4 2
12 Diamond Harbour (withdrew) 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
13 Peerless SC 2 0 0 2 0 4 −4 0

Group B is the tighter and the lower-scoring of the two. Second to seventh covers a spread of just three points, and Coal India SPA lead it unbeaten on 11 without any side having pulled clear the way East Bengal have in Group A. Mohammedan SC are the ones to watch: third on seven points from only three matches, with more games still to play than anyone above them.

The goal columns tell the difference between the groups plainly. Coal India SPA’s eight is the best attacking return in Group B; four Group A sides have already scored more than that.

How the CFL 2026 format works

The Calcutta Football League is run by the Indian Football Association of West Bengal and has been played since 1898, which makes 2026 its 128th year. The Premier Division was drawn as 26 clubs in two groups of 13, but Sribhumi FC and Diamond Harbour both withdrew before playing, so 24 sides are actually competing — 12 in each group. The withdrawn clubs stay in the published tables on nil.

  • First phase: each group plays through its own single round-robin.
  • Championship round: the top three from each group go into a six-team Super Six that decides the title.
  • Relegation round: the bottom three from each group play off to decide who goes down.
  • Tie-break: teams level on points are separated by goal difference.

That top-three cut is what makes the Group A picture above so live. Three clubs sit on 10 points behind East Bengal for two remaining qualification places, and one of them has played two more matches than the other two.

Who are the defending champions?

East Bengal, who won the 2025 CFL Premier Division for their 41st league title — comfortably the most of any club in the competition’s history. Their unbeaten start to 2026 is the reason they are the shortest route to a Super Six place again.
