Brentford are unbeaten and a point above Liverpool, and Kelleher faces his old club at the Gtech
Liverpool go to west London without the suspended Gravenberch, and Iraola is still waiting on Isak, Gakpo and Szoboszlai.

Brentford have not lost a Premier League game this season, and they go into Saturday’s home match against Liverpool a point and five places above them. Kick-off at the Gtech Community Stadium is 3pm UK time, 7:30pm IST.
Keith Andrews’ side are fourth on 10 points from six games, with two wins, four draws and a goal difference of plus six. Both wins came at home, and both finished 3-0: Tottenham on the opening weekend in August, then Chelsea on 18 September, Brentford’s first home win over Chelsea since 1938. Liverpool are ninth on nine points, with two wins, three draws and one defeat.
Liverpool’s week: 3-0 down at Anfield, 6-3 up in Linz
That one defeat came on 11 October. Manchester City won 3-0 at Anfield after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off for a second yellow card, and he serves a one-match league ban at Brentford.
Andoni Iraola then made four changes for Wednesday’s Champions League game at LASK and got a 6-3 win, with Bradley Barcola scoring his first hat-trick for the club. It was also untidy. Liverpool were 6-1 up after 72 minutes and conceded twice more before the end. Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Milos Kerkez were all rested in Austria.
Iraola expects to rotate again. “We will need to change again at the weekend,” he said. The bigger question is who comes back. Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai all came back injured from international duty and missed both the City and LASK games. Iraola has not ruled any of them out. “I leave the chance open this time, yes,” he said. Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo are available again after being ineligible for the LASK tie, while Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni remain long-term absentees.
Kelleher against his old club
Caoimhín Kelleher is expected in Brentford’s goal. He won two Premier League titles at Liverpool, mostly behind Alisson, before Brentford signed him in June 2025 for an initial £12.5 million.
Another former Liverpool player could be in front of him. Sepp van den Berg was back on the bench at Villa Park after a groin injury, and Brentford may need him. Jannik Schuster came off at half-time there with an ankle problem, and Kevin Schade went off in the second half with a shoulder injury. “Jannik and Kev have been on the grass this week and we’ll see what tomorrow brings in terms of how much they can do,” Andrews said. Nathan Collins and Mikkel Damsgaard are working their way back, and Kaye Furo and Josh Dasilva are out.
Brentford’s last game was a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on 10 October. Yehor Yarmoliuk scored early, Villa went ahead through Nicolas Jackson and John McGinn, and Kristoffer Ajer equalised late to keep the unbeaten run going.
Brentford have the recent edge
Liverpool have not beaten Brentford in their last two league meetings. Brentford won this fixture 3-2 in October 2025, with Dango Ouattara, Schade and an Igor Thiago penalty putting them in control before Kerkez and Mohamed Salah replied. The return at Anfield on 24 May 2026 finished 1-1, Schade cancelling out Curtis Jones’ goal.
For Iraola, a win would take Liverpool above Brentford. For Andrews, a draw keeps them unbeaten and ahead, and it would be their fifth of the season.
