Divine Gaming lead the BMPS 2026 grand finals as SouL and GodLike stumble on day one

The richest BGMI event of the year has a frontrunner, and it is not one of the names the season has been built around. Divine Gaming tore through the opening day of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2026 grand finals in Jaipur, banking 85 points and two Chicken Dinners to sit clear at the top while the tournament’s marquee sides spent Friday scrambling near the foot of the table.

Divine Gaming set the early pace

Six matches into an 18-game finale, Divine Gaming have the cushion. Their 85-point haul came with 54 eliminations across the day, the kind of all-round return that wins these long, points-stacked LANs rather than a single explosive map. Sonigra Raghuraj Singh, who plays as Slug, was the standout with 18 frags, and his teammate Knight added 14 as the side closed out two of the day’s six games.

Behind them the chasing pack is tight. Nebula Esports sit second on 53 points, with Genesis Esports a single point back in third on 52. Reckoning Esports are fourth on 47 and arguably had the louder start of anyone, taking both of the opening two matches before the field caught up. Team 8Bit, Revenant XSpark and Vasista Esports round out the top seven, none of them far enough back to be out of the conversation with twelve matches still to play.

The big names have work to do

The story near the bottom is the one that will travel. Team SouL, crowned BGIS 2026 champions earlier this year and India’s most consistent roster of the season, managed only 25 points and slipped to 12th. GodLike Esports, who topped their qualifier group and arrived among the favourites, had it worse still and propped up the entire 16-team field in last place on 20.

Neither result is fatal. The grand finals are decided across three days and 18 maps precisely so a flat opening cannot sink a good team, and both sides have the firepower to climb fast. But the gap is real: SouL and GodLike start day two with ground to make up on rivals who have spent none of their margin yet.

How day one unfolded

The six matches were shared around, which is part of why the table is so congested. Reckoning struck first and then backed it up to win the opening two games, before 7Gods produced a 19-point Chicken Dinner in the third. Nebula grabbed a win of their own to anchor their place in the top three, and Divine Gaming saved their best for the back half of the day, the two late Chicken Dinners that pushed them out in front.

What is riding on Jaipur

The stakes sharpen the closer this gets. The BMPS 2026 prize pool stands at four crore rupees after Krafton doubled it on the run-in, with one crore reserved for the champions, 60 lakh for the runners-up and 40 lakh for third. The bigger carrot is the slot waiting at the other end: the winners book a place at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026, staged alongside the Esports World Cup in Paris, which is the prize most of these rosters have spent six weeks of qualifiers chasing.

Day two got under way on Saturday at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre, with another six matches across Rondo, Erangel and Miramar before the title is settled on Sunday. Divine Gaming have the lead and the momentum, but on a board this tight, and with the heavyweights still to find their range, the trophy is a long way from decided.
