Team Apex Gaming went into the last match of the BGMI Showdown’s Upper Bracket Survival outside the top eight. They came out of it with a chicken dinner, ten finishes and the final semi-final place, one point ahead of Vijay Esports.
That was the end of three days and 18 matches on Saturday. Apex finished eighth on 111 points. Vijay Esports finished ninth on 110, and instead of going straight to the semi-finals they now have to get through the Lower Bracket Survival, which starts on Sunday.
Nebula win the stage, Outrage take the most finishes
Nebula Esports topped the table with 178 points. The Aadi-led side took five chicken dinners from 18 games, more than anyone else in the stage, and added 119 finishes.
Team Outrage were second on 165. They only won one match, but Omega’s lineup made 123 finishes, the highest total of the 16 teams. Blue Army were third on 136, and Learn From Past, who led after day one without winning a game, ended fifth on 119 with still no chicken dinner to show for it. GodLike climbed to sixth on 115 after a better final day, and 4TR took seventh on 113.
Orangutan’s drought is over
The defending champions were 12th after the first day, and they had gone a long time without a chicken dinner. They ended that run in the last match of Friday, on Miramar, and won the first match on Saturday too, on Rondo. Two wins in a row lifted Orangutan to fourth on 127 points.
For a side that had a slow start to the stage, that is a turnaround. Whether it holds up against the Group A teams in the semi-finals is the next question.
Who drops to the Lower Bracket
Vijay Esports lead the eight sides going down. IRIS finished tenth on 107 and The Knight Mobs 11th on 105. Higg Boson, second after day one, faded to 12th on 90. K9 Esports (86), HyperCatz (79), Madkings (74) and Lastade (67) make up the rest.
The Lower Bracket Survival runs from October 4 to 6 with 16 teams, and only the top four go through. The semi-finals follow from October 8 to 11 with 24 teams, and the Grand Finals are a LAN in Hyderabad from October 16 to 18, with ₹1 crore in prize money.
