SouL finished one point behind GodLike, and the BGIS champions start week two of the Showdown in Group B
Group A of the BGMI Showdown qualifiers has finished its first week, with Gladiator Esports on top and the reigning BGIS champions in the relegated half.

Team SouL came into the BGMI Showdown as the reigning BGIS champions. After six matches in Group A they had 39 points, one fewer than GodLike, and that single point is the difference between staying in the top group and starting week two in Group B.
Group A finished its week-one schedule on Wednesday at the Savaaya Convention in Hyderabad. The top eight stay put. The bottom eight, SouL among them, drop a level when the groups are reshuffled.
Gladiator Esports finish on top
Gladiator Esports ended the week first on 58 points, with one chicken dinner and 34 finishes. Vasista Esports, who had led after the opening day with 37, added 17 more and finished second on 54. 8Bit were third on 51, and 7Gods fourth on 49. 7Gods were the only side in the group to win two of the six matches.
The two other big names both got through, just about. Orangutan, the defending Showdown champions, were ninth after the first day on 20 points and climbed to fifth on 45 after a strong last game. Outrage and Reckoning took sixth and seventh.
GodLike, the BMPS 2026 champions, cut it the finest. They were 12th on 14 points after day one, scored 26 on Wednesday and finished eighth on 40, the last safe place. Their 31 finishes did most of the work. They collected only nine placement points across the six matches.
Who goes down with SouL
SouL’s 39 came from 27 finishes and 12 placement points. Behind them in the relegated half are Revenant XSpark on 36, Myth on 28 and Nebula on 27, and Nebula won the BGMI Masters Series only on 6 September. Apex Gaming finished 13th on 26, then Genesis on 23, Team Tamilas on 17 and Elite Nova on 15.
So two of this year’s big trophy winners are going down together. The format does not care. Every team in Group A played the same six matches, and the reshuffle goes purely on points.
Why the drop hurts, and why it is not fatal
The qualifiers run for nine straight days, from 22 to 30 September, in three weeks of six matches per team. Groups are reshuffled after weeks one and two, and then frozen. Where a team sits at the end of week three decides the next stage.
That is where Group A matters. Its top four at the end of the qualifiers go straight to the Grand Finals from 16 to 18 October. Fifth to 12th go to the semi-finals, and even the bottom four only fall into Upper Bracket Survival. Group B’s route is longer: its top four reach the semi-finals, and everyone else has to get through a survival stage first.
SouL and the other seven have one week to fix it. A top-eight finish in Group B in week two puts them back in Group A for the final week, with a direct Grand Finals place still on the table. Group B and Group C play their last week-one matches on Thursday, and eight teams from Group B will come up to fill the gaps.
SouL have the roster to climb straight back up. Two days in, though, the BGIS champions are a Group B team, and GodLike’s single extra point is the reason.
