Revenant XSpark lead BGMS Season 5 after day one, on a table that is not what it looks like
Eighty-nine points and two chicken dinners put Revenant top of the opening standings. Two thirds of the field played half as many matches, which is the number that actually matters.

Revenant XSpark finished the opening day of the BGMI Masters Series Season 5 league stage on top, with 89 points and two chicken dinners from six matches. It is a good start. It is also a table that will look completely different by Thursday, and the reason is in the format rather than the play.
Six matches, but not for everybody
The 24 teams are split into three groups, and Monday’s schedule ran six matches. One group was in all six of them. The other two played three each. So the number at the top of the standings after day one is partly a measure of how many times a team got to walk onto the map, and the teams sitting mid-table on half the games have not underperformed at all.
Revenant were in the group that played twice as much, and they used it. Their 89 points came from 41 for placement and 47 for finishes, which is the profile of a team that fought rather than sat. Vasista Esports were second on 70 without winning a match all day. Zero Ark followed on 59 and K9 Esports on 58 with one chicken dinner.
White Walkers are the name to watch on the corrected reading. They sit fifth on 54 from three matches, and they took the first chicken dinner of the season, match one on Rondo, worth 26 points. Per game played, nobody had a better Monday.
A day for aggression
RNTxTrace was the standout individual with 15 finishes across the day, which in a format where finish points and placement points carry roughly equal weight is worth as much to a team as a careful top-five run.
Revenant’s split says the same thing, more from finishes than from placement. There was little sign of a field feeling its way into a month-long LAN, banking survival and learning the rotations, which is how an opening day often goes. Monday was fought.
The two teams who are not here yet
GodLike and Orangutan are in Paris at the PUBG Mobile World Cup, and NODWIN gave them direct entry into Super Weekend 1 on 21 August rather than ask them to be in two countries at once. Every point being scored right now is being scored in a field missing the two rosters India sent to a world event.
That matters for how you read this table for the next ten days. The teams building a cushion now are doing it against 23 opponents, not 25, and the two who walk in on 21 August arrive with no LAN fatigue and nothing to defend.
What is left this week
League Week 1 runs to 13 August, so there are three more days of this before the Bounty Weekend from 14 to 16 August. The groups rotate through the schedule, so the teams on three matches get their heavier days later in the week and the standings settle into something you can actually read. Right now it is a leaderboard with an asterisk, and Revenant will take it anyway.
