Learn From Past did not win a match on the first day of the BGMI Showdown’s Upper Bracket Survival, and they still finished it top of the table. LEFP scored 60 points across six games on Thursday, 1 October, two clear of Higgboson Esports, with Nebula Esports third on 52.
Sixteen teams are in this stage and only eight go through. After 18 matches over three days, the top eight move into the semi-finals and the bottom eight drop into the Lower Bracket Survival, where the margin for error gets smaller still.
LEFP top it on finishes
LEFP’s 60 came from 43 finishes and 17 placement points. That finish count was the highest in the lobby, seven more than Higgboson in second. Higgboson were the steadier side on placement, with 22 points from positions and 36 from finishes, and they closed the day by winning the sixth match on Miramar.
Nebula were the only team with two chicken dinners. They won the third match on Erangel for 25 points, the biggest winning score of the day, and took the fifth on Miramar for 23. Two wins and 52 points is a decent day, but it shows how much LEFP got out of consistency alone.
4TR are fourth on 47. Iris Esports (43), HyperCatz (41), The Knight Mobs (38) and GodLike Esports (38) make up the rest of the top eight for now.
A rehosted opener
The day started badly. Team Apex Gaming hit a technical problem in the first match on Rondo and reportedly asked officials to replay it, and after a review the game was rehosted for all 16 teams. When it was played again, Vijay Esports won it for 21 points. The Knight Mobs took the second match.
Apex Gaming made something of the reset. They won the fourth match on Erangel and finished the day ninth on 36 points, two behind GodLike in eighth. Vijay are tenth on 34 and K9 Esports 11th on 32.
Orangutan’s wait goes on
Orangutan, last year’s champions, are 13th on 25 points. They came into this stage without a win in 18 qualifying matches and did not add one on Thursday either. Twelve games remain, so the gap to eighth is far from fatal, but they have now gone 24 matches in this year’s Showdown without a chicken dinner.
Version1 x Blue Army, who missed a direct semi-final place on a tiebreak in qualifying, are 15th on 24. Madkings are bottom with 18.
What comes next
Day two on Friday, 2 October, has another six matches, and the last six follow on Saturday. The organisers have also flagged that the standings could still change if penalty points are applied.
The Showdown has a ₹1 crore prize pool, the winner goes to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2026, and the top six earn places at the BGMI International Cup.
