Group A has SouL, GodLike and Orangutan in it, and eight of those 16 go down after week one
Krafton India has published the BMSD 2026 draw, and the top group holds the BGIS, BMPS and Showdown champions at once. Six matches a week, promotion and relegation after each of them, and nothing underneath to catch the teams left at the bottom of Group C.

Nine days ago the BGMI Showdown had a start date, a crore in prize money and no team list. Krafton India has published the draw, and the format attached to it is harsher than an invite-only tournament sounded.
Forty-eight teams are split into three groups of 16. They are not three parallel brackets. They are a ladder, and every roster spends the qualifier window either climbing it or sliding down it.
How the ladder works
Every team plays six matches a week, 18 across the three qualifying weeks, and the groups rewrite their own membership as they go. Finish a week in the top eight of your group and you go up. Finish in the bottom eight and you go down. Group A’s bottom eight drop into Group B, Group B’s top eight take their places, and the same swap happens between B and C.
Nobody is knocked out mid-qualifier. The cut comes at the end, when the teams sitting in the lower half of Group C are done, with no bracket stage underneath to catch them. Being seeded low and staying low is the one outcome here with no route back.
Group A is the part people are shouting about
Krafton put the heavyweights in the same 16. Team SouL, GodLike, Orangutan, Genesis, Revenant XSpark, Apex Gaming, Gladiators, 8Bit, Team Outrage, Elite Nova, Team Tamilas, Vasista, 7Gods, Myth Official, Nebula and Reckoning make up the top group.
That means the reigning BGIS champions in SouL, the BMPS 2026 winners in GodLike and the defending Showdown champions in Orangutan all have to hold their place in week one or take the drop. There is a logic to seeding the best teams into the top tier. It still produces the arithmetic that eight of them finish week one in Group B.
What comes after the nine days
Two survival brackets follow the qualifiers. Upper Bracket Survival runs from 1 to 3 October and Lower Bracket Survival from 4 to 6 October. The semi-finals are spread across 8 to 11 October, a Last Chance stage on 12 and 13 October gives beaten teams one more go, and the LAN Grand Finals run from 16 to 18 October at the Savaaya Convention in Gandipet, Hyderabad.
The last day is played under the Smash Rule, so a team has to reach the match-point threshold and then win a match outright to be champion. Erangel, Miramar and Rondo are the maps.
The winner gets more than the crore. A Showdown title carries a place at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship finals in Istanbul, and the best six finishers go to the BGMI International Cup, which has PMGC slots of its own. That is the real reason these rosters cleared October.
Day one
Groups A and B opened on 22 September with three matches each. Day two puts C and A on, day three B and C, and the Krafton India Esports YouTube channel carries all of it in Hindi and English, with the broadcast up around 1pm IST and the first game at 2pm.
The scene spent September asking who was actually invited. The answer came with a format attached, and it is possible to be one of the 48 and be finished by the end of the month.
