GodLike finish third in Group B as both Indian rosters reach the PMWC Grand Finals
Both Indian rosters in Paris are into the PMWC Grand Finals, and neither of them is on the 24-team list for the domestic league that starts on Monday.

GodLike Esports finished the PUBG Mobile World Cup group stage on 105 points, third in Group B and comfortably clear of the Survival Stage cut. The top five in each group go straight through to the Grand Finals in Paris, and it means both Indian sides at the tournament are through to the final weekend without going anywhere near the Survival Stage.
A comfortable third, and a tighter fight below them
Group B ran across two matchdays and 12 matches, closing on Sunday. Team Vitality made the rest of it look academic with 148 points, and IDA Esports pulled clear for second on 108. GodLike were next on 105, well inside the qualifying places. Below them the table did compress: Horaa Esports took fourth on 98, S2G Esports claimed the last direct spot on 97, and eArena missed out by two points on 95. The top five went straight through. Sixth place did not.
GodLike’s own cushion over the Survival Stage cut ran to 10 points, and the real squeeze was further down the table, where Horaa, S2G and eArena finished separated by three points between them. That is the kind of finish that reads as comfortable because it was.
The format this year is harsher than the ones before it. Thirty-two teams were split into two groups of 16, the top five in each went directly to the Grand Finals, sixth to 13th dropped into the Survival Stage, and the bottom three in each group were knocked out at the group stage. Being eliminated in the opening week is new for a PUBG Mobile World Cup, and it gave the middle of Group B a very different weekend to the one Vitality had.
Orangutan had done their part on Friday
Orangutan came through Group A, which was played first, finishing second on 91 points with two Chicken Dinners. Pakistan’s 4Thrives Esports topped that group on 107 without winning a single game, which is a fair summary of how much placement points matter in this format. Aurora Gaming, Team Flash and Nigma Galaxy took the other direct places, and eight Group A teams dropped into the Survival Stage.
Two Indian teams at a PUBG Mobile World Cup is itself a first, and both clearing the group stage is not a small return for a scene that cannot practise on the game at home. The global build of PUBG Mobile has been banned in India since 2020, so preparing for a tournament played on it means leaving the country to do it. Both squads spent roughly 25 days in Nepal running international scrims before flying to Paris.
Sixteen teams contest the Grand Finals from Friday 14 August to Sunday 16 August: the five direct qualifiers from each group, plus the six who come through the second-chance bracket on 11 and 12 August. The prize pool across the event is 3.025 million dollars, with 1.7 million of it attached to those three days.
The domestic league opens on Monday without either of them
NODWIN Gaming has now published the field for the fifth BGMI Masters Series, and neither GodLike nor Orangutan is on it. The 24 teams are 20 invitees, among them Team Soul, 8Bit, Revenant XSpark, K9 Esports and Nebula Esports, plus four sides who came through TVS Wicked Battles 2026 in White Walkers, HyperCatz, Santa Esports and Aura X Esports. League Week 1 begins on Monday 10 August, three groups of eight playing a double round robin.
The calendars were always going to collide. BGMS opens on 10 August, the Survival Stage runs on 11 and 12 August, and the PMWC Grand Finals occupy 14 to 16 August, which is precisely when BGMS holds its Bounty Weekend. A roster cannot be in a Paris lobby and an Indian league lobby on the same evening, and the team list is the answer to how that gets resolved: the two rosters in Paris are not in the domestic competition at all.
Tidy scheduling, and an odd look at the same time. India’s two representatives at the world championship will sit out the opening month of the country’s flagship BGMI league, and that league’s broadcast opens without the two names that have carried Indian PUBG Mobile abroad all summer. How much it costs BGMS depends on how far the pair go from here. A deep run in Paris is exactly the kind of thing a domestic league would rather have on its own stream than someone else’s.
GodLike now get four days off. They are seeded, they are in, and after wrapping up a comfortable third in the group stage, a week without a lobby to lose in will not feel like the worst outcome.
