Gladiators had 27 points after two days, and two chicken dinners on Saturday have put them in the BGMI Showdown top eight

Gladiators Esports went into Saturday 22nd of 24 in the BGMI Showdown semi-finals, with 27 points. They won two of the day’s six matches and finished it fifth on 89. With four games left for every team on Sunday, they are inside the top eight that go straight to the Grand Finals.

Team Apex Gaming are back on top. They added 24 points to their overnight 94 and have 118, three clear of GodLike Esports, who led after Friday but managed 13 points on Saturday and sit on 115.

Who won what on Saturday

Wyld Fangs won the first match of the day on Rondo. Gladiators then took the next two on Erangel, back to back, and Blue Army won the fourth, also on Erangel. The last two, both on Miramar, went to Elite Nova Esports and Welt Esports. Six matches, five different winners, and not one of them from the teams in the top four.

Blue Army started the day 20th on 30 points and are 11th on 80, seven off the top eight. Elite Nova were bottom on 12 and have 54, which lifts them to 20th. They are almost certainly headed for the Last Chance stage, but a 42-point day is a decent way to arrive there.

The other big climber had no chicken dinner at all. Team SouL were 17th on 35 after Friday. They are now sixth on 88, having played all six of Saturday’s matches. K9 Esports, from the same group, went from 71 to 100 and are third, level on points with Nebula Esports.

Myth fall, Orangutan stay bottom

Myth Esports held eighth place overnight on 56. They added five points on Saturday and have dropped to 18th. Team Outrage, seventh on Friday, are tenth on 81. HyperCatz, tenth overnight, are 19th on 60.

Orangutan, the defending champions, had 23 points after two days and 41 now. They are last, 46 points behind eighth with four games to play, and all but certain to be in the Last Chance stage.

The cut line for Sunday

The top eight is tight. Gladiators have 89, SouL 88, and Vasista Esports and Genesis Esports 87 each, with Genesis eighth. Welt are ninth on 82, five behind, and Outrage and Blue Army are within seven. I would not call any of the teams from fifth to eleventh safe or out.

The top eight after 16 matches go to the Grand Finals, a LAN in Hyderabad from October 16 to 18. Everyone from ninth down plays the Last Chance stage on October 12 and 13 for the remaining Grand Finals places.
