Genesis and Myth both finished on 391, and only one of them is in the BGMS Grand Finals

Two teams finished the BGMS Season 5 Super Weekends on exactly 391 points. Myth are in the Grand Finals. Genesis started the playoffs on Monday afternoon with fifteen other sides, chasing the ten places that are left.

The six who went straight through

Super Weekend 2 ended on 30 August, and the leaderboard that decides direct qualification adds both Super Weekends together across 36 games. Team Tamilas topped it with 460 points, 197 eliminations and four chicken dinners, with Aimgod on 62 kills and Justy on 58.

Elite Nova came second on 456 with five chicken dinners and 195 eliminations. Their Mafia was the individual leader of Super Weekend 2 with 72 kills. Team SouL took third on 434 with only one match win but 204 eliminations, more than any side managed in the stage, Goblin and Legit contributing 63 and 62 of them.

Nebula Esports finished fourth on 402 without winning a single match, which takes a particular kind of consistency, and Gladiators fifth on 396 with five wins. Myth held the last automatic place on 391 with four chicken dinners, 156 eliminations and 147 bonus points.

Genesis ended on the same 391 with three chicken dinners and finished seventh. They made a fast start to Super Weekend 2 and led that weekend’s table after day one.

Seventh is not elimination, and Genesis will take that

Sides placed seventh to sixteenth on the Super Weekend leaderboard go into the playoffs, joined by six teams coming up from the League leaderboard. That is sixteen teams playing for ten Grand Finals spots between 31 August and 2 September, six matches a day from 3:30pm IST.

The company in there is not comfortable. Team Outrage were eighth on 388, GodLike ninth on 358 and Orangutan tenth on 351, both of the latter having played at the Esports World Cup this year. Revenant XSpark are in it too, and their position is the strangest in the tournament. They were the best team of Super Weekend 2 on points, but they missed Super Weekend 1 entirely, so their 276 leaves them fourteenth on a table built over two weekends.

What is waiting at the end

The Grand Finals run from 4 to 6 September with sixteen teams and a prize pool above ₹1 crore. NODWIN’s numbers for the season so far are 20 million views, more than seven million hours watched and a peak concurrent audience over 220,000. Hydro of Team Apex leads the eliminations on 198, while Vasista and Gladiators have each won eleven matches across the whole event.

For Genesis the arithmetic is simple. Finish top ten of a sixteen-team playoff and the 391 never comes up again. Miss it and a Super Weekend that started with a 47-point lead ends with nothing at all.
