Trent Rockets are in both Hundred finals at Lord’s, and nobody has ever won the double
Trent Rockets topped the men’s and women’s tables and go into both Hundred finals at Lord’s on Sunday. In six seasons no franchise has won the pair in the same year.

Lord’s stages both Hundred finals on Sunday, and the same name sits on both team sheets. Trent Rockets finished top of the men’s and women’s group tables, the first franchise in the competition’s six seasons to manage that, and it carried them straight past the eliminators into a pair of title matches four hours apart. The women’s final starts at 14:15 BST, 18:45 IST. The men follow at 18:00 BST, 22:30 IST. Monday is the reserve day if the weather gets in the way.
The men’s final is a rerun of 2022
Trent Rockets against Manchester decided the 2022 men’s title, when the Rockets won by two wickets at Lord’s. Lewis Gregory hit a six, a four and a single off the last five balls to get them home, and Gregory is still in the squad. Manchester were the Originals then. RPSG Group, who own Lucknow Super Giants, bought 70 per cent of the franchise and renamed them the Manchester Super Giants for this season.
The Rockets reached this final on 24 points from eight group matches, one win clear of Manchester on 20. Manchester took the harder route, through the eliminator at The Oval on Friday, and won it by 20 runs. Paul Walter made 80 off 46 balls and Heinrich Klaasen 63 off 26 in a stand of 114 that lifted them to 186 for 4, then Josh Tongue took 4 for 26 as Sunrisers Leeds stalled on 166 for 7.
The two sides met once in the group stage, at Old Trafford on 31 July, and that afternoon reads like a warning for Manchester. Craig Overton removed Tim Seifert, Aiden Markram and Klaasen to hold them to 137 for 3 despite Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 55, then Finn Allen made 72 not out off 35 balls and the Rockets finished it with 13 deliveries unused.
Trent Rockets’ women have never been this far
The women’s Rockets have not played in a Hundred final before. Five previous seasons produced four different champions and none of them came from Nottingham. This year they lost one group match out of eight, to London Spirit, and finished on 28 points with the best net run rate in the competition. Ashleigh Gardner captains them.
Sunrisers Leeds arrive as the holders. They won the 2025 women’s title as Northern Superchargers, beating Southern Brave by seven wickets in front of a record women’s crowd at Lord’s, and Sun Group, the owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad, have since bought the franchise outright for a valuation of around £100 million, the first Hundred team sold in full. They squeezed past Southern Brave by five wickets in the eliminator, chasing 115 with 11 balls to spare, with Hannah Baker conceding 13 off her 20 balls.
Trent Bridge on 2 August offered a preview of this one. The Rockets posted 139 for 7 with Sophia Dunkley making 56 off 33, Annabel Sutherland answered with 59 not out off 30, and Sunrisers finished five runs short.
The double nobody has managed
Since 2021 no franchise has held both Hundred trophies at the same time. Southern Brave went closest in the first season, when their men beat Birmingham Phoenix and their women were bowled out for 73 against Oval Invincibles on the same afternoon. The Rockets have already won the new Helix trophy, which combines men’s and women’s results, on the back of 13 wins and three defeats across the two competitions.
The team they have to beat to history is not even at Lord’s. MI London, formerly Oval Invincibles, hold three men’s titles and two women’s, more than anyone, and their men won the last three finals, including a 26-run win over these Rockets in 2025. Both their sides missed the knockouts this year.
Deepti Sharma is the last Indian standing
Three of the four finalists are IPL-owned. Sun Group hold Sunrisers Leeds, RPSG hold Manchester, and only the Rockets, part-owned by Cain and Ares Management, sit outside that circle.
Deepti Sharma is the one Indian player left in the tournament. She took 12 wickets in the group stage for Sunrisers Leeds, best figures of 3 for 11, which puts her joint second on the women’s wicket list, and she has been using the competition as preparation for the Asia Cup. Phoebe Litchfield and Annabel Sutherland are the two leading run-scorers in the women’s competition and both play for her side, which is a decent shape to take into a final against a team that has lost once all summer.
