India A Women went from 102 for 0 to 120 for 4, and Tanisha and Niki took them to 351 on day one in Mohali
Tanisha Singh fell eight short of a hundred and Niki Prasad is unbeaten on 78 after a sixth-wicket stand of 111 against Australia A Women in the only multi-day game of the tour.

India A Women were 102 without loss on the first morning in Mohali, lost four wickets for 18 runs, and still finished the day on 351 for 9. Tanisha Singh made 92 and Niki Prasad is 78 not out, and the four-day game against Australia A Women is already tilted towards the home side.
India A won the toss at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium and batted. The game was meant to be in Dharamshala and was moved to Mohali after rain. It is the last match of Australia A’s tour, four days after India A won the one-day series 2-1 on the same ground by chasing 363.
A good start, then Mills
Shubha Satheesh and Priya Punia put on 102 for the first wicket in 27 overs. Punia was the quicker of the two, with 46 off 65 balls, before Milly Illingworth had her caught behind by Tahlia Wilson.
That brought Lilly Mills into the game. The off-spinner had Satheesh lbw for a patient 59 off 117 balls, had captain Yastika Bhatia stumped for 5, and removed Tejal Hasabnis for 2. At 120 for 4 the good work from the openers looked close to wasted. Mills finished the day with 3 for 94 from 31 overs, which tells you how much Australia A leaned on her.
Tanisha and Niki take it back
Anushka Sharma, who carried her form over from the one-dayers, helped Tanisha put on 82 for the fifth wicket before she fell for 44. Then came the partnership of the day. Tanisha and Niki added 111 for the sixth wicket and took India A past 300.
Tanisha batted for 166 balls and hit 12 fours. She was eight short of a hundred when Tess Flintoff trapped her lbw, and that opened up the tail. Charli Knott picked up the late wickets to finish with 3 for 82.
Niki was the quicker scorer of the pair, with 78 off 99 balls, 11 fours and two sixes. She also made 76 in that 363 chase last week, so this is not a one-off. She will resume on the second morning with Shuchi Upadhyay, who has yet to score.
What day two needs
India A will want a few more from the last pair, but 351 is already a big total on a first day. The job on Wednesday is for their bowlers. Australia A chased 339 in the second one-dayer here, so India A know this batting line-up can score quickly, and a long first-innings lead is the aim.
