The Providence Stadium, also known as the Guyana National Stadium, replaced Bourda as Guyana’s national stadium. It opened in 2006, seats 20,000 and was built specifically to host Super Eight matches at the 2007 World Cup. At that tournament, Lasith Malinga became the first bowler in international cricket to take four wickets in four balls, against South Africa.
The ground’s first T20Is were played on 30 April 2010 at the ICC World T20. It has since staged 19 men’s T20Is: six at the 2010 World T20, seven bilateral games against India, Pakistan and Bangladesh between 2019 and 2023, and six at the 2024 T20 World Cup. The last of those was the semi-final on 27 June 2024, which India won by 68 runs against England. West Indies have played 11 T20Is at the ground, winning six, losing three, with two no results.
Here are the Providence Stadium T20I records, complete to that semi-final.
