Only five players have scored a hundred and taken five wickets in the same ODI: four men and one woman. Viv Richards was the first, in 1987, and Bas de Leede the most recent, in 2023. The list is from ESPNcricinfo, checked against every ODI hundred and every ODI five-wicket haul in men’s and women’s cricket, to 12 October 2026.

Richards made 119 off 113 balls, with 10 fours and four sixes, as West Indies posted 237/9. He then took 5/41 as New Zealand were bowled out for 142, and West Indies won by 95 runs.

Paul Collingwood: 112* and 6/31 v Bangladesh, Nottingham, 2005

In the 2005 NatWest Series, Collingwood hit an unbeaten 112 off 86 balls, with 10 fours and five sixes, after Andrew Strauss’s 152 had set up England’s 391/4. Collingwood then took 6/31, Bangladesh were all out for 223, and England won by 168 runs. His 6/31 is still the best bowling in this group.

Rohan Mustafa: 109 and 5/25 v Papua New Guinea, Abu Dhabi, 2017

Batting first, Mustafa made 109 off 125 balls in a total of 251/9. He then took 5/25 as Papua New Guinea were bowled out for 148, and the UAE won by 103 runs.

The only woman on the list, Kerr was 17 when she made 232 not out off 145 balls, with 31 fours and two sixes, in New Zealand’s 440/3. It is still the highest score in women’s ODIs, three more than Belinda Clark’s 229*. She then took 5/17 in seven overs as Ireland were bowled out for 135, and New Zealand won by 305 runs.

Bas de Leede: 123 and 5/52 v Scotland, Bulawayo, 2023

In a must-win World Cup Qualifier match, de Leede first took 5/52 as Scotland made 277/9. He then hit 123 off 92 balls, and the Netherlands reached 278/6 in 42.5 overs, fast enough to pass Scotland on net run rate and take the last place at the 2023 World Cup in India.
