Barcelona agree deal to sign teenage Club Brugge winger Jesse Bisiwu
Barcelona have all but wrapped up a 10 million euro move for Club Brugge’s 18-year-old winger Jesse Bisiwu, getting the deal done before his contract could run down.

Barcelona have reached a full agreement to sign Jesse Bisiwu, the 18-year-old Club Brugge winger, in a deal that has taken about six months to put together. With only the paperwork and a medical left, the transfer is expected to be confirmed once those formalities are done.
The fee has been reported at around 10 million euros, with Brugge also holding on to 30 percent of any future sale. That sell-on clause says as much about the price Barcelona were prepared to pay for a teenager as it does about the belief in Belgium that Bisiwu is one of the brighter talents to come through the Brugge academy.
Why Brugge sold now
Timing drove the deal. Bisiwu’s contract at Brugge runs to 30 June 2027, which left the Belgian club with a straightforward choice: sell this summer for a fee or risk losing him for nothing in a year. Barcelona pushed through that window, with sporting director Deco travelling to Belgium more than once to get the agreement over the line.
An earlier Barcelona bid was turned down before the two clubs settled on terms, and the player had already signalled he wanted the move. Reports in Spain and Belgium, led by the newspaper SPORT and journalist Sacha Tavolieri, described the deal as done bar the signatures.
A winger built for the left
Bisiwu is a left-sided winger whose game is built on pace and one-against-one dribbling. That profile fits what Barcelona have been shopping for, with Deco and Hansi Flick after wide players who can carry the ball and beat a full-back. The club has also moved for Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi in the same push for directness out wide.
For now, Bisiwu is set to join Barça Atlètic, the club’s reserve side, rather than walking straight into the senior dressing room. He will train with Flick’s first team through pre-season, and a strong showing there could shorten the wait. It is a familiar route for Barcelona, who use the B team to hand young signings competitive minutes while keeping a path open to the top level.
This is not a signing that fixes Barcelona’s immediate needs, and an 18-year-old arriving from the Belgian league will need time to settle. But it is a low-cost bet on a player the club rates highly, and the kind of deal Barcelona have leaned on while working within tight financial limits.
