PSG willing to offer record-breaking 350m euros for Barcelona's Yamal

The French champions have held fresh talks with Yamal's representatives as they push ahead with what would be the biggest transfer in football history. Reports in France and Spain say PSG are ready to table an offer close to 350 million euros when the summer window opens, dwarfing every fee paid before it.
Barcelona's position has not shifted. Club president Joan Laporta has already confirmed that the club rejected a 250 million euro approach from PSG when Yamal was about to turn 17. "We said no immediately," Laporta said at the time.
Yamal's contract leaves Barcelona in control
The teenager signed a long-term extension with Barcelona running until 2031, with a release clause set at one billion euros. That gives the Catalan club enormous leverage in any negotiation. PSG would need Barcelona to agree to a price well below that clause, and nothing from Camp Nou suggests they are willing to entertain one.
Yamal has been in outstanding form this season. The 18-year-old has 14 La Liga goals and nine assists to his name already, with more across the Champions League and Copa del Rey. On current form, few wingers in Europe can match him. PSG see him as the centrepiece of their next project, a successor to Kylian Mbappe as the face of the club.
Yamal focused on Barcelona's summer plans
For his part, Yamal appears to be looking forward rather than sideways. According to reports in Spain, he has asked the Barcelona board to sign a top-class centre-forward this summer. Robert Lewandowski's contract expires at the end of June, and Ferran Torres could also leave. Barcelona are weighing options including Julian Alvarez, Serhou Guirassy, and Dusan Vlahovic, with a reported budget ceiling of 100 million euros for the position.
That says plenty. Players angling for a move do not usually lobby their club to strengthen the squad around them. Yamal wants to win at Barcelona, and so far there is no sign he is prepared to consider anything else.
A familiar pattern from PSG
PSG have a history of going after players their clubs do not want to sell. Their pursuit of Mbappe from Monaco and Neymar from Barcelona both succeeded, but both required either a release clause or a player who forced the issue. Neither condition applies here. Yamal is happy, Barcelona are firm, and the clause is set at a level no club could realistically trigger.
The 350 million euro figure will generate plenty of noise this summer. Whether it produces an actual transfer is a different question entirely.
