Jonathan is one of the most recognised names in Indian mobile esports. The 23-year-old has been GodLike Esports' headline player through multiple competitive seasons, with his matches consistently drawing some of the largest viewership numbers in BGMI. Reports this week suggest he is ready to go it alone.

What the reports say

Multiple community sources and esports journalists say Jonathan has registered a company called Amaral Esports Pvt Ltd. He is reportedly partnering with Soham Rathod, the popular content creator known as SSR Vlogs, and at least one other co-founder to build an organization from scratch. The reported plan is to build the competitive roster around Gunjan Thakur, better known as Jelly, who currently plays for True Rippers.

The timing lines up with the BGMI transfer window, which opened on April 1. Teams have around 30 days to register signings, releases, and trades, meaning any formal announcement would be expected in the coming weeks if the reports are accurate.

GodLike push back

The organization's co-owner Amar has called the reports "baseless." As of early April, neither Jonathan nor GodLike had issued a statement confirming anything. That silence has not done much to stop the speculation. Within the community, the sense that something is happening has been building steadily since BGIS 2026 wrapped up in Chennai at the end of March.

Why this matters

Jonathan walking out of GodLike to start his own venture would be the biggest player movement in Indian BGMI in years. GodLike are one of the founding names of the competitive scene; losing their star to a startup built around that same player would reshape the landscape heading into BMPS 2026. Whether Amaral Esports could immediately compete at the top level is an open question. Jonathan's individual profile means any team he builds will attract sponsor interest and viewer numbers from launch day.

Nothing is official yet. The transfer window stays open for weeks. The next month will be telling.
