Team Soul crowned BGIS 2026 champion after dominant Grand Finals in Chennai

Team Soul claimed the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2026 title with 173 points across 18 matches at the Chennai Trade Centre, taking home the 1 crore top prize from a 4 crore prize pool.
Consistency over three days made the difference
Team Soul led the standings after Day 1 and never let go. They picked up two Chicken Dinners and racked up 119 eliminations across the three-day Grand Finals, building a lead that no other team could seriously threaten. By the time the final match wrapped up on Sunday evening, they had 173 points, four clear of Genesis Esports in second place on 169.
LEGIT earned the Finals MVP award for his performances across the closing day, while team leader Nakul was named Best IGL for his shot-calling throughout the tournament. The combination of firepower and tactical discipline set Soul apart from the rest of the 16-team field.
Genesis Esports push Soul all the way
Genesis Esports came agonisingly close. They sat second after Day 2 with 114 points and kept the pressure on throughout Sunday, but could not overtake Soul's consistent output. HunterZ from Genesis took home the overall tournament MVP award for his individual brilliance across the series. Orangutan rounded out the top three with 132 points, climbing from outside the top five after Day 2 thanks to a strong final session.
GodLike slip but hold top five
GodLike Esports, who started strongly alongside Soul on Day 1, dropped from third after Day 2 to fifth in the final standings with 118 points. Victores Sumus jumped them to take fourth on 128 points. K9 Esports (117) and Revenant XSpark (114) filled sixth and seventh, while Wyld Fangs grabbed the last top-eight spot on 112.
Prize pool breakdown
The 4 crore prize pool was spread across all 16 finalists. Soul's 1 crore winner's cheque was the headline, with Genesis collecting 50 lakh and Orangutan earning 35 lakh. Even the 16th-placed Welt Esports walked away with 8 lakh. Individual awards for MVP, Finals MVP and Best IGL added further recognition for the standout performers.
The BGIS 2026 result cements Team Soul's status as one of India's strongest BGMI rosters. With the competitive calendar heating up, their consistency across this tournament sets a benchmark that other organisations will be chasing for the rest of the year.
