The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2026 Grand Finals opened in Chennai on Friday with 16 teams fighting for a share of the 4 crore prize pool. After six matches across Rondo, Erangel and Miramar, it was the old rivals at the top of the leaderboard: Team Soul on 66 points and GodLike Esports on 63.

Goblin leads Soul's charge

Team Soul picked up one Chicken Dinner and racked up a tournament-high 48 eliminations across the day. Goblin was the standout performer, earning the Day 1 MVP award with 18 kills. Soul's consistency across all six maps gave them the edge over GodLike, who had the higher peak but dropped points with a poor showing on Miramar.

GodLike took two Chicken Dinners through aggressive rotations, with Jonathan Gaming putting up 17 eliminations of his own. Their two wins came on Erangel and Miramar, but a couple of early exits in the middle matches kept them from pulling clear.

The rest of the pack

Victores Sumus sit third on 57 points after closing out the final match of the day with a Chicken Dinner on Miramar. Wyld Fangs, who won the opening match on Rondo, are fourth on 55. Genesis Esports round out the top five with 54 points.

Vasista Esports also grabbed a Chicken Dinner on the fourth map but could not maintain their form across the other five matches. The remaining ten teams will need a big push on Day 2 to stay in contention.

What comes next

Day 2 gets underway on Saturday with another six matches scheduled. The Grand Finals run until March 29, with the team on top of the cumulative standings taking home the title and the largest share of the prize pool. After Day 1, it looks like a two-horse race between Soul and GodLike, but there is a lot of BGMI still to play.
