Stewart's stoppage-time penalty sends Southampton past Fulham into FA Cup quarter-finals

Southampton left it as late as possible to book their spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with Ross Stewart converting a 91st-minute penalty to stun Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Azaz fouled, Stewart delivers
The game looked headed for extra time when Finn Azaz drove into the Fulham box in the dying seconds. Joachim Andersen's clumsy challenge brought the Southampton midfielder down, and the referee pointed to the spot. Stewart stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to spark wild scenes among the travelling fans.
It was a cruel exit for Fulham, who as the Premier League side in the tie were expected to progress comfortably. They had controlled large stretches of the game but could not turn their possession into goals, and ultimately paid the price for one rash challenge.
Championship pedigree on show
Southampton, relegated from the Premier League last season, have found their feet in the Championship and this cup run has been a welcome bonus. They join an elite group in Monday's quarter-final draw alongside fellow underdogs Port Vale and Leeds United.
Port Vale, from League One, beat Sunderland 1-0 on Saturday in their own upset. Leeds dispatched Norwich 3-0 with goals from Sean Longstaff, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Joel Piroe to reach the last eight for the first time in over 20 years.
Quarter-final draw tonight
The quarter-final draw takes place on Monday evening at around 7:05 PM GMT, with Joe Hart picking the balls live on TNT Sports 1. The eight teams are Southampton, Port Vale, Manchester City, Leeds, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and the winner of Monday night's West Ham versus Brentford tie at the London Stadium. Quarter-final matches are set for the weekend of April 3-6.
