Arne Slot's Liverpool produced one of their best attacking displays of the season, putting five past West Ham at Anfield in a 5-2 win on Saturday evening. Hugo Ekitike opened the scoring before Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo all found the net, with an Axel Disasi own goal completing the rout. Tomas Soucek and Valentin Castellanos replied for West Ham, but the visitors were overwhelmed for long stretches.

It was a timely performance from Liverpool, who remain in the hunt at the top end of the table. Mohamed Salah, however, continued his longest Premier League goal drought, now stretching to 10 games without scoring.

Arsenal edge Chelsea in set-piece battle

At the Emirates on Saturday, Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 in a match where all three goals came from corners. William Saliba headed Arsenal in front in the 21st minute before Chelsea levelled through a Piero Hincapie own goal from a Reece James delivery. Jurrien Timber restored Arsenal's lead in the 66th minute with a header from a Declan Rice corner.

The win keeps Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table and deals a blow to Chelsea's hopes of closing the gap on the league leaders. Rice was at the centre of a VAR controversy when a handball in his own area was reviewed but deemed not a foul.
