Arsenal ready to sell Ben White this summer with Roma defender Wesley Franca top of replacement list

White, who signed a long-term deal in March 2024 that runs until 2028, has seen his role shrink this season with Jurrien Timber establishing himself as Mikel Arteta's first-choice right-back. The 28-year-old has started just five matches across all competitions, with two of those coming in the Carabao Cup.
Franca on a long list of suitors
The Brazilian full-back joined Roma for around 25 million euros and has impressed in his debut Serie A campaign, making 26 league appearances and scoring four times. The 22-year-old has also featured eight times in the Europa League and earned a call-up to the Brazil squad for World Cup qualifying.
Arsenal are not the only club watching. Manchester City, Tottenham, Newcastle and Real Madrid have all been credited with interest in Franca, while Everton could have an advantage through their ownership link with Roma. Reports suggest Roma would want around 50 million euros to part with him.
Other names on the radar
Franca is the leading candidate, but Arsenal have also been monitoring Newcastle's Tino Livramento, Eintracht Frankfurt's Nnamdi Collins and Monaco's Vanderson as alternatives. Any White sale would directly fund the incoming right-back, with Arsenal likely to demand a substantial fee given he still has two years left on his contract.
Cristhian Mosquera's emergence has further squeezed White's opportunities. The Spaniard has been used as defensive cover across the backline, adding to the competition that has pushed the former England international down the pecking order.
