BGIS 2026 Grand Finals head to Chennai with 16 teams and a 4 crore prize pool

The road to Chennai is set. After weeks of online qualifiers, offline semi-finals and a brutal Survival Stage in Hyderabad, 16 teams have earned the right to compete in the BGIS 2026 Grand Finals. The event runs from March 27 to 29 at the Chennai Trade Centre, with a prize pool of four crore rupees on the line.
The 16 qualified teams
Team Soul topped the semi-final standings to lead the pack into Chennai. They are joined by Orangutan, Genesis Esports, Learn From Past, Reckoning Esports, Revenant XSpark, Victores Sumus, Meta Ninza, GodLike Esports, Welt Esports, Nebula Esports, Myth Official, Wyld Fangs, K9 Esports, Team Tamilas and Vasista Esports.
GodLike qualified despite benching star player Jonathan for the Survival Stage. GodZ stepped in as a replacement, and the team still made it through. Jonathan is expected to return for the Grand Finals, which should give GodLike a significant boost if their chemistry holds up after the roster shuffle.
Phoenix Esports and Madkings were among the notable casualties eliminated during the Survival Stage. Their exits mean two of the more recognizable names in Indian BGMI will be watching from the sidelines in Chennai.
Prize pool breakdown
KRAFTON India has put up four crore rupees for the Grand Finals, a number that grew after BGMI players collectively unlocked an additional two crore through the in-game Discovery Island initiative. The winners take home one crore, with 50 lakh for second place and 35 lakh for third. Individual awards include three lakh for the tournament MVP and two lakh for the best in-game leader.
Format and what to expect
The 16 teams will play 18 matches across three days. The Semi-Finals showed that form can shift quickly in competitive BGMI, with teams like Learn From Past storming to the top of the standings on Day 2 before Team Soul reasserted themselves by the end.
The KRAFTON India Esports YouTube channel recently passed two million subscribers, a sign of how far competitive BGMI has come as a spectator sport. Tickets for the Chennai event are available through Swiggy Scenes.
