Opting to bat first, Afghanistan compiled 200/4 in their 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran led the charge with 95 off 56 deliveries, falling five runs short of a century after anchoring the innings from the top. He found support from Sediqullah Atal, who added 44 off 32 balls as Afghanistan accelerated through the middle and death overs.

Canada’s bowlers claimed four wickets but were unable to contain the scoring rate as Afghanistan maintained consistent momentum across the innings.

In pursuit of 201, Canada concluded their 20 overs on 118/8. Afghanistan’s bowling unit applied immediate pressure, restricting boundary opportunities and taking wickets at regular intervals to prevent any sustained recovery.

Mohammad Nabi delivered the standout performance with the ball, returning exceptional figures of 4/7 in his four overs. His spell effectively dismantled Canada’s middle order and ensured the required rate escalated beyond reach.

The comprehensive result strengthened Afghanistan’s position in the group standings, while Canada were left needing improvement in their remaining matches to remain competitive in the tournament.
