Shami rattles SRH top order

Mohammed Shami set the tone early with a devastating opening spell that left Sunrisers reeling. The veteran pacer dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the very first over, tempting him into an aggressive shot that produced a thick edge, before returning to remove Travis Head with a slower delivery two overs later. Prince Yadav then accounted for Ishan Kishan, leaving SRH 22 for 3 at the end of the powerplay. Liam Livingstone fell shortly after to Digvesh Rathi to leave SRH 35 for 4. Shami finished with outstanding figures of 2 for 9 from his four overs.

Klaasen and Reddy drag SRH back

With the top order in tatters, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy steadied the ship with a 116-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Klaasen scored 62 off 41 balls while Reddy matched him with 56 off 33, a counterattacking stand that hauled SRH from the depths to a competitive 156 for 9 from their 20 overs.

Pant delivers when it matters

Chasing 157, Lucknow lost early wickets of their own but Pant absorbed the pressure and built his innings with the kind of control that has come to define his captaincy this season. He reached his fifty without celebration, staying locked in on the job. His most decisive passage came in the 16th over when he smashed 13 runs off five balls to tilt the game firmly in Lucknow's favour. Pant finished unbeaten on 68 off 50 deliveries as LSG crossed the line with five wickets and one ball to spare.

The win was LSG's first of IPL 2026 after a defeat to start the campaign. For SRH, who had beaten KKR by 65 runs in their previous match, the loss drops them to one win from three outings.
