Suryakumar anchors Mumbai to 162

Without Hardik Pandya, who missed the match through illness, Mumbai turned to Suryakumar Yadav for leadership and runs. He delivered on the second count, anchoring the innings with 51 off 36 balls while batting at number four. Rohit Sharma chipped in with 35 at the top, but Mumbai lost wickets at regular intervals through the middle overs and could only manage 162 for 6.

Mukesh Kumar was the pick of the Delhi bowlers, finishing with figures of 2 for 26 from his three overs. His ability to hit hard lengths and extract movement off the surface kept Mumbai's middle order in check throughout.

Rizvi takes the game away from Mumbai

Delhi's chase started briskly with Pathum Nissanka firing 44 at the top of the order, but the real destruction came from Rizvi. Walking in at number four, he took his time initially before unleashing a brutal assault on Mumbai's bowlers.

Seven fours and seven sixes in a 51-ball innings tells the story. Rizvi hit boundaries to all parts of the ground, treating pace and spin with equal disdain. He was particularly savage against the short ball, pulling and hooking anything short of a length over the rope. His innings turned what should have been a tight chase into a procession.

Delhi cruise home with overs to spare

Delhi reached their target of 163 in just 18.1 overs, losing only four wickets along the way. Rizvi earned a well-deserved Player of the Match award for an innings that was both controlled and devastating in equal measure.

For Mumbai, the absence of Pandya was felt in the field as much as with the bat. Their bowling lacked a cutting edge in the powerplay and Rizvi made them pay. After the high of Rohit Sharma's record-breaking knock against KKR last week, this was a sharp reality check. Delhi, meanwhile, have now won both their matches and sit comfortably in the top half of the table.
