Man City in advanced talks for Elliot Anderson as Pepi heads to Fulham and Liverpool eye Gordon

The summer transfer window is still months away but the biggest Premier League clubs are already manoeuvring. Here is where the main deals and rumours stand on March 21.
City push ahead for Anderson
Manchester City are in advanced talks with the representatives of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, according to Fabrizio Romano. City have confirmed their interest directly to the player's camp and regard the England international as a priority midfield target for the summer.
Manchester United are monitoring the situation but City appear to hold the stronger position. Forest are expected to demand at least 80 million pounds for Anderson, though that asking price could shift depending on whether the club is still in the Premier League by season's end. Bayern Munich had also shown interest but were reportedly put off by the fee.
Pepi set for Fulham medical
Ricardo Pepi is closing in on a move to Fulham after the two clubs reached a verbal agreement for the American striker. Pepi has travelled to London to complete a medical ahead of a reported 28.5 million pound transfer that would go through in the summer window.
The 23-year-old USA international has scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for PSV this season, including three in three Champions League outings. PSV rejected Fulham's approach in January but have now agreed to let him go. Pepi originally joined PSV from FC Augsburg in July 2023 for around 9 million euros and is expected to sign a deal running until 2031.
Liverpool want Gordon as part of double winger deal
Liverpool have identified Anthony Gordon as one of two wingers they want to sign this summer, with the Newcastle forward seen as a potential replacement should Cody Gakpo leave Anfield. Gordon was close to joining Liverpool in the summer of 2024 before Newcastle pulled the plug on the deal.
A move would be expensive. Gordon is under contract at St James' Park until 2030 and Newcastle are said to value him at 100 million pounds. Relations between the two clubs have been strained since Liverpool signed Alexander Isak last summer, which could complicate negotiations.
Newcastle want Chelsea's Delap, Villa bid for Gila
Newcastle are looking at Chelsea forward Liam Delap as an alternative striking option. Eddie Howe met Delap in person last summer before the 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town for 30 million pounds, but a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge, with just one Premier League goal in 21 appearances, means Chelsea could be open to offers around 40 million pounds.
Elsewhere, Aston Villa are preparing a 30 million euro bid for Lazio centre-back Mario Gila. The 25-year-old Spaniard is said to be tempted by a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea also keeping tabs.
