Arsenal are reportedly preparing significant moves for Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni and Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka as they look to strengthen their squad for next season.

The Gunners have made initial contact regarding Bastoni, viewing the Italian international as a priority target according to transfer reports. Arsenal face competition from Barcelona and Liverpool for the 26-year-old centre-back, who has established himself as one of Serie A's most reliable defenders.

In midfield, Arsenal have received encouragement in their pursuit of Goretzka. The Germany international is expected to leave Bayern Munich when his contract expires at the end of the season and reportedly favours a move to the Premier League. The 30-year-old would bring considerable experience to Mikel Arteta's side.

Real Madrid's midfield rebuild

Real Madrid have identified Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton as a priority target for 2026. The 22-year-old English midfielder has impressed since joining Palace from Blackburn Rovers, and Madrid see him as part of their long-term midfield rebuild following Luka Modric's departure. Los Blancos are also monitoring Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong.

Manchester United's plans

Manchester United have made informal contact with representatives of Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, with Casemiro reportedly urging the club to pursue the Brazilian. United are also linked with Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, who is said to be close to agreeing a move to a top Premier League side.

Liverpool and other moves

Liverpool continue to monitor Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala, with reports suggesting the Merseyside club is "obsessed" with bringing the 22-year-old back to England. Musiala spent his youth career at Chelsea before joining Bayern's academy.

Other notable developments include Jesse Lingard nearing a move to Brazilian club Corinthians, AC Milan closing in on Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface, and Noah Okafor set to join Leeds United from AC Milan in a €20 million deal.
